My name is Rick Bem, Owner and mechanic of Bem’s Mobile Equipment repair. I am a husband and father of 3 children. I have been a mechanic my entire adult life. As a young child I would always find myself taking my toys apart to figure out how they work and put them back together, I was fascinated by how things worked and would challenge myself to put it back together. While in high school I attended a Vo tech school for HVAC, Plumbing and electrical, only because my school did not offer a mechanic course.
I finished high school and entered the work force as an apprentice HVAC technician. After a few months I felt this was not the right fit for me, so I started searching for schools in diesel technology. I attended a technical school for 2 years and graduated in diesel technology and chassis fabrication.
Right out of school I landed a job working as a fleet truck mechanic. I liked working on trucks but it started to feel routine and became boring to me. I left the truck leasing company and wound up taking a Job in the oil and gas industry working on hydraulic fracturing sites. I started out in the shop and it was not long my employer had me set up and working from a service truck, working as a mobile field mechanic. I loved working from a service truck and being face to face with customers and teaching customer what I know. I continued in the gas and oil industry for 6 years until I finally had enough of living out of a hotel. I came back home and got a job with a heavy equipment dealership as a field service technician. To this day I am still working for that dealership and have been for almost 8 years.
I created Bem’s Mobile Equipment Repair to offer equipment owners in my area a mobile repair services that is backed by 13 years of experience in the field. Through my career I have spent many hours and days attending many manufactures training courses, for example I spent 4 weeks in Fort Worth, Texas at a Caterpillar facility to get trained on tier 4 Caterpillar engines. I have been to North Carolina for leeboy, Michigan for bandit and South Carolina for Bomag and multiple engine classes.
Sorry for the long bio and thank you for taking the time to read. God Bless!
